After practicing as a clinical social worker for years, having daughters and traveling to some amazing places, I decided to merge my love of helping people with my passion of making jewelry. I wanted to find a way to incorporate stones and colors from my travels to invoke the peace I felt while away, even after returning home.
My goal is to make jewelry that allows the wearer to take their intentions and place them into the stones to create change; to be present and believe in infinite possibilities. Tatiana M Designs mission is to create pieces that help the wearer see their own beauty and feel confident, while also giving back and making a difference in our world.
How it all began
As I gazed out at the beautiful Pacific Ocean, I could feel my stress evaporate like the ocean mist evaporating off the water. In that precious moment of peace, the idea for my business was born. I wanted to remember the colors and way I felt while being on vacation. Here on our much-needed family vacation in Hawaii, I felt more present, grounded and hopeful then I had in ages. But I knew that I needed an easier, more practical, and more affordable solution than flying across the country to evoke these emotions and energies. I decided to merge my love of helping people with my passion for making jewelry. I worked to create jewelry with intention, incorporating stones and colors from my travels to invoke the peace I felt while away, and to carry it with me even when returning home. My mission is to make jewelry that allows the wearer to take their intentions and place them into the stones to create change; to be present and believe in infinite possibilities.
Tatiana visited Jabulani and HESC in the summer of 2018 and had a life changing event interacting with the elephants. Ever since her visit, she wanted to find a way to help these beautiful animals in anyway. She designed the Mopane charm bracelet after one special elephant in the orphanage that passed away from a life threatening disease. Mopane was rescued by HESC in 2017 who helped him back to good health and then successfully became part of the elephant HERD until his passing. The Mopane charm bracelet was designed in his memory and 20% of the proceeds go to the HERD organization.
